Special Characteristics: Lovely large scalloped leaves; Flowers in July producing tiny tubular flowers on tall stems creating a plume-like effect; Comes up fairly early in spring and grows rapidly; May wish to stake mid-May or early June; Can spread aggressively by rhizomes but can be reined in; Has nice purple seed heads; Ok to leave for winter interest or cut down Oct/Fall; Divide in early spring or late fall
