Special Characteristics:
  • Formerly known as Cimicifuga racemosa. All plants in the Cimicifuga genus have been transferred to the genus Actaea
  • Flowers are fragrant
  • Foliage tends to scorch if soils are allowed to dry out. Slow to establish but is long-lived and relatively easy to maintain in the right conditions
  • Propagate by rhizome divisions cut into 2-3 inch vertical sections with at least one bud attached to each piece, leaving any fibrous roots
  • Rabbit tolerant
  • Deer tolerant
