When you intern at the Garden, you’ll build your resume at an exceptional organization with talented mentors who will help you on your professional journey. All internships are paid.

Current Opportunities

Applications for 2020 summer internships are now open through Monday, February 3, and can be accessed here. The application process will take between 10–20 minutes and includes five short answer questions. No cover letter or resume is needed at this time. Once applications close on February 3, candidates will be invited to interview and a cover letter or resume may be requested at that time.

Horticulture Internship (30 hours/week)

Immerse yourself in the world of public horticulture as you work hands-on in the Garden. You’ll rotate through various spaces as you learn more about the art and science of growing and displaying plants, interacting with visitors, and supporting public programs.

Programs Internship (30 hours/week)

Support and develop programs for youth and families including Family Gardening Day, Grandparents University, and Amazing Sprouts. Develop and curate a robust offering of wellness activities that utilize the Garden, including the signature Lunchtime Wellness series. 

Plant Parents Internship (30 hours/week)

Collaborate with Garden staff to manage and expand the Plant Parents of UW initiative. This includes growing plants for and planning major aspects of the Plant Adoption Day event, orchestrating related pop-up activities throughout the year, and managing the UW Plant Parents Instagram.
